And what's more important than that is to make sure that you are being honest with yourself so that you won't be losing yourself in self-deprecation.There is nothing wrong with using self-deprecating humor, but remember that as long as you are writing about yourself, you should keep it light. For example, you don't want to joke about a subject like you. But if you find yourself trying to put yourself down or sounding like an old man, it's time to tone it down a bit.However, writing about yourself in a negative way could also be a good idea. When you write things that could be construed as a negative thought, you may not be the only one who is doing it. But you may not realize it. When you know someone else is talking bad about you, it's a good idea to stand up for yours elf.One of the biggest mistakes is talking about yourself in a way that is not true to your character. When you do this, it will be very hard for you to move on. A more effective way to write about yourself is to treat yourself like you would your family or your friends. Be supportive of your actions, not because you have to but because you want to.People like themselves, so what you have to do is to avoid the self-hatred. What this means is that instead of continually talking about how you look or how you sound, try to focus on how you are in other areas. It is just like the one big family and you will find that it is easier to live with yourself when you can appreciate and respect yourself.Take care of yourself from the inside out. For example, you have to eat right, exercise, get enough sleep and maintain a healthy weight. Doing these things alone is not going to solve all your problems, but by doing them together you are more likely to succeed.As you see, there is nothing wrong with being self-deprecating, but when you start to dwell on it and you don't show any emotion, it's a problem. Instead, you have to keep the eye on the prize and let all your efforts go toward helping you accomplish all the things you want to accomplish.
