The Hunters: Phantom Chapter 16
He strolled for a long, long time, however it appeared his environmental factors never showed signs of change. The equivalent diminish light sifted through a consistent haze of debris. He trudged on through grime, through mud, through lower leg profound pools of dull water. Intermittent y, he unclenched his clench hand and looked again at the locks of hair. Each time, the enchantment fluid cleaned them somewhat more, changing a piece of sinewy darkness to two locks of sparkling hair, red and gold. He strolled on. Everything hurt, except he was unable to stop. On the off chance that he halted he would sink back beneath the debris and mud, back to the grave back to death. Something murmured around the edges of his brain. He didn't know very what had befallen him, yet words and expressions spun in his mind. Words like relinquished, words like alone. He was freezing. He continued strolling. Sooner or later, he understood he was muttering. ââ¬Å"Left me al alone. They'd never have left him here.â⬠He was unable to recollect who this him was, yet he felt a wiped out kind of fulfillment from the shine of disdain. He clutched it as he proceeded with his walk. After what felt like a constant time everlasting, something occurred. In front of him he could see the gatehouse he had envisioned: spired like a fantasy palace, pitch dark. He strolled quicker, his strides rearranging through the debris. And afterward the earth opened out of nowhere underneath his feet. In about a heartbeat, he was fal ing into nothingness. Something inside him yelled, Not presently, not currently. He snatched and ripped at the earth, his arms holding him above water, his feet swinging into the vacancy underneath him. ââ¬Å"No,â⬠he groaned. ââ¬Å"No, they can'tâ⬠¦ Don't leave me here. Try not to leave me again.â⬠His fingers slipped, mud and debris sliding underneath his hands. ââ¬Å"Damon?â⬠a wary voice thundered. An extraordinary solid figure remained above him, outlined against the moons and planets in the sky, his chest exposed, long, spiraling knot of hair spil ing over his shoulders. This sculpture of a man came to down and got a handle on him by the arms, lifting him up. He cried in torment. Something underneath the earth had locked onto his legs and was pul ing him down. ââ¬Å"Hold on!â⬠The other man snorted, muscles undulating. He stressed and hurled against whatever was sticking onto Damon â⬠Damon, the man had cal ed him, and that felt right, some way or another. The other man gave an incredible pull, and last y the power beneath discharged him, and he shot out of the earth, thumping his rescuer in reverse. Damon lay gasping on the ground, spent. ââ¬Å"You should be dead,â⬠the other man let him know, moving to his feet and holding out a hand to consistent Damon. He drove a long lock of hair away from his face and looked at Damon with genuine, upset eyes. ââ¬Å"The reality that you are notâ⬠¦ wel , I am not as shocked as I ought to be.â⬠Damon flickered at his guardian angel, who was watching him mindfully. He wet his lips and attempted to talk, however his voice wouldn't come. ââ¬Å"Everything has been upset here since your companions left,â⬠the man said. ââ¬Å"Something fundamental has moved in this universe. Things are not right.â⬠He shook his head, his eyes upset. ââ¬Å"But tel me, mon cher, how can it come to be that you are here?â⬠Last y Damon discovered his voice. It came out harsh and trembling. ââ¬Å"Iâ⬠¦ don't know.â⬠The man promptly was al graciousness. ââ¬Å"I think the circumstance cal s for some Black Magic, oui? Furthermore, some blood, maybe, and an opportunity to tidy up. And afterward, Damon, we should talk.â⬠He motioned toward the dim manor in front of them. Damon faltered for a second, looking at the void and debris around them, at that point walked after him toward the open entryways. After Stefan cleared out of the room so out of nowhere, everybody could just gaze after him as the front entryway slammed, flagging that he had gone out similarly as fast. Bonnie embraced her arms around herself, shuddering. A little voice in the rear of her head revealed to her that something was incredibly, wrong. Celia last y ended the quiet. ââ¬Å"Interesting,â⬠she said. ââ¬Å"Is he generally soâ⬠¦ exceptional? Or on the other hand is it a vampire thing?â⬠Alaric laughed dryly. ââ¬Å"Believe it or not, he's constantly appeared to be exceptionally relaxed and down to earth to me. I don't recollect him being so volatile.â⬠He ran a hand through his graying hair and included keen y, ââ¬Å"Maybe it was the diverge from his sibling that caused him to appear to be so sensible. Damon was pretty unpredictable.â⬠Meredith scowled mindful y. ââ¬Å"No, you're correct. This isn't the way Stefan normal y acts. Perhaps he's passionate in light of the fact that Elena's undermined? Be that as it may, that doesn't make senseâ⬠¦ she's been in peril previously. In any event, when she passed on â⬠he was devastated, however, on the off chance that anything, it made him progressively capable, not wilder.â⬠ââ¬Å"But when Elena was dead,â⬠Alaric reminded her, ââ¬Å"the most exceedingly awful thing he could envision had just occurred. It's conceivable that what's making him so nervous is that he doesn't have the foggiest idea where the risk's coming from this time.â⬠Bonnie took a taste of tea, daydreaming as Meredith gee attentive y, and Celia raised one doubtful eyebrow. ââ¬Å"I stil don't comprehend what you mean when you state Elena passed on. Are you recommending she real y rose from the dead?â⬠ââ¬Å"Yes,â⬠said Meredith. ââ¬Å"She was transformed into a vampire, at that point she was presented to daylight and physical y kicked the bucket. They covered her and everything. Later â⬠months after the fact â⬠she returned. She's human once more, though.â⬠ââ¬Å"I discover al that extremely hard to believe,â⬠said Celia straight. ââ¬Å"Honestly, Celia,â⬠said Alaric, surrendering in irritation. ââ¬Å"With all that you've seen since we got here â⬠your scarf about stifling you, at that point spel ing out a name, Bonnie having a dream, Stefan viable y traveling to spare you â⬠I don't have the foggiest idea why you're adhering to a meaningful boundary now and saying you don't accept a young lady could return from the dead.â⬠He stopped and calmly inhaled. ââ¬Å"I don't intend to sound brutal, yet genuine y.â⬠Meredith smiled. ââ¬Å"Believe it or not, it's actual. Elena returned from the dead.â⬠Bonnie wrapped one long red twist around her finger. She looked as her finger turned white and red against the strand of hair. Elena. Obviously they were discussing Elena. Everybody was continually discussing Elena. Regardless of whether she was with them or not, all that they did or thought focused on Elena. Alaric went to address the entire gathering. ââ¬Å"Stefan appears to be persuaded that ââ¬Ëhe needs you' signifies Caleb, however I don't know that it does. From what I've seen of Bonnie's dreams, and what you all have outlined for me, they're scarcely ever about what's directly before her. Caleb's appearance â⬠in the event that it even was Caleb â⬠could have been a happenstance. Wouldn't you say in this way, Meredith?â⬠Gracious, try not to get some information about the dreams, Bonnie idea sharply. I'm just the person who has them. Wasn't that the manner in which it generally was, however? She was the one everybody ignored. ââ¬Å"It could be a coincidence,â⬠Meredith said dicey y. ââ¬Å"But if it's not Caleb she was discussing, who right? Who needs Elena?â⬠Bonnie looked under her eyelashes at Matt, yet he was gazing out the window, obviously totally segregated from the discussion. She could tel that Matt stil cherished Elena, regardless of whether nobody else knew. It was really awful: Matt was dreadful y charming. He could date anybody, yet it was setting aside him a long effort to get over her. In any case, at that point, nobody at any point appeared to get over Elena. A large portion of the young men at Robert E. Lee High School had circumvented looking contemplative y after her, as though she may out of nowhere pivot and fal into their arms. Surely the greater part of the young men Elena had dated had remained a smidgen in adoration with her, much after Elena had pretty much overlooked their names. It isn't reasonable, Bonnie idea, whirling her hair all the more firmly around her finger. Everybody constantly needed Elena, and Bonnie had never at any point had a sweetheart for in excess of half a month at once. What wasn't right with her? Individuals consistently disclosed to her how charming she was, the manner by which cute, how funâ⬠¦ and afterward they looked past her to Elena, and it resembled they couldn't see Bonnie any longer. And keeping in mind that Damon, astonishing, attractive Damon, had been enamored with her, occasionally, when she wasn't attempting to mess with herself, she realized he hadn't genuine y seen her, either. I'm only the sidekick, that is my concern, Bonnie idea gloomily. Elena was the star; Meredith was a saint; Bonnie was a sidekick. Celia made a sound as if to speak. ââ¬Å"I need to admit I'm captivated by the presence of the names,â⬠she said solidly. ââ¬Å"It seems like they point to a danger. Regardless of whether Bonnie's implied vision comes to anythingâ⬠â⬠Bonnie shot her best dreadful glance at Celia, yet Celia disregarded it â⬠ââ¬Å"we should examine any foundation or setting we can discover for the unexplained appearance of the names. We should see whether there's a written history of this sort of thing occurring previously. The composition on the wal , in the event that you wil .â⬠She gave a slender lipped grin at her own joke. ââ¬Å"But what might we investigate?â⬠Bonnie stated, getting herself unwil ingly reacting to Celia's teacherlike way. ââ¬Å"I wouldn't realize where to begin searching for something like this. A book on curses, perhaps? Or on the other hand signs? Do you have anything like that in your library, Mrs. Flowers?â⬠Mrs. Blossoms shook her head. ââ¬Å"I'm apprehensive not, dear. My library, as you probably are aware, is for the most part herbals. I have a couple of increasingly particular books, however I can't recal anything that may be useful with this problem.â⬠At the point when she referenced ââ¬Å"more specific books,â⬠Bonnie's cheeks got hot. She thought of the grimoire on correspondence with the dead, stil tucked under the planks of flooring in her room, and trusted Mrs. Blossoms hadn't saw it was absent. Following a couple of moments, her cheeks had cooled enough that s

From Contempt to Love Elizabeth and Darcyââ¬â¢s Evolution - Literature Essay Samples
The need to reconsider first impressions runs throughout Jane Austenââ¬â¢s Pride and Prejudice. Both Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy judge one another harshly based on first impressions, while Elizabeth also forms judgments of Mr. Wickham and Miss Darcy. Throughout the novel, as Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy see each other and others in a new light, more accurate opinions based upon fact and understanding replace their first opinions based upon impressions, rumors, and prejudices. Because they allow their ideas to evolve throughout the novel, they open themselves up to the possibility and reality of love. Mr. Darcyââ¬â¢s initial contempt of Elizabeth is evident when he forms an immediate impression of Elizabeth the first time he sees her at a ball. He says, ââ¬Å"She is tolerable; but not handsome enough to tempt meâ⬠(Austen 7). Mr. Bingley suggests that Darcy take Elizabeth as a dance partner, but Darcy declines on the grounds that she lacks beauty. He also says that he does not want to stoop so low as to dance with a girl all of the other men at the ball reject. After that, he persists in criticizing her and will not allow himself to see her as pretty. However, his attitude toward her changes fairly rapidly. By chapter six, he finds that instead of looking for fault in her, her manners please him and he notices her expressive eyes, intelligence, and nice figure. To his own surprise, he ââ¬Å"wish[es] to know more of herâ⬠(15). Thus, the evolution begins. Elizabeth also starts out with a negative first impression of Mr. Darcy, but it takes her a little longer to change her mind. She judges Mr. Darcy to be too proud not long after he arrives at the dance, but when she overhears his reasons for not asking her to dance, she ââ¬Å"remain[s] with no very cordial feelings toward himâ⬠(7). Following the dance, Mrs. Bennet comments on Darcyââ¬â¢s pride and rudeness, to which Elizabeth replies that she ââ¬Å"may safely promiseâ⬠¦never to dance with himâ⬠(12), clearly demonstrating her initial disdain. Even after Mr. Darcy begins to warm up to Elizabeth, she tells Mr. Wickham that she finds Darcy to be ââ¬Å"very disagreeableâ⬠(53). Upon hearing Mr. Wickhamââ¬â¢s woeful tale, in which Mr. Darcy is the villain, she further judges Mr. Darcyââ¬â¢s character as despicable. When Mr. Darcy pays a visit to the Collins abode during Elizabethââ¬â¢s stay at Charlotteââ¬â¢s new home, Charlotte observes that without Elizabethââ¬â¢s presence, ââ¬Å"Mr. Darcy would never have come so soon to wait upon meâ⬠(116). This observation attests to Darcyââ¬â¢s growing affection for Elizabeth. Later, Elizabeth attends Rosings, the home of Lady Catherine, with Charlotte and Mr. Collins. Mr. Darcy visits Rosings at the same time and engages in a very civil, at times even playful, conversation with Elizabeth regarding the misfortunes of prejudgment. He reveals that he regrets having made such hasty judgment of Elizabeth. His feelings of fondness for Elizabeth continue to grow until he can no longer repress them, and he calls on her at Charlotteââ¬â¢s to tell her, ââ¬Å"How ardently I admire and love youâ⬠and to ask for her hand in marriage (129). Unfortunately, though he has come to love her, he still sees her as below him because of her financial and social situation. He makes no effort to hide his feelings of superiority from Elizabeth, causing her to turn him down. During her frequent encounters with Mr. Darcy at Rosings, Elizabeth begins to see a more civil side of him, and during her playful conversation with him, he admits that he regrets his hasty judgment of her. However, she still does not view him as a good man due to her misconceptions about his treatment of Wickham. Darcyââ¬â¢s arrogant marriage proposal infuriates her. She tells him that she cannot express gratitude for the offer because, she says, ââ¬Å"I have never desired your go od opinion, and you have certainly bestowed it unwillinglyâ⬠(129). She recognizes that he still sees her as beneath him and that he views this prejudice as something merely to deal with rather than to expel. After his rejection by Elizabeth, Darcy writes her a letter in which he assures her that he will not reiterate his marriage proposal, but writes to amend her misconceptions of the situation with Wickham, because Wickham has told Elizabeth that Mr. Darcy has cheated Wickham out of money left him by Mr. Darcyââ¬â¢s father. During Elizabethââ¬â¢s visit to Pemberley with her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner, they explore Darcyââ¬â¢s beautiful estate. When Darcy arrives unexpectedly, Elizabeth is embarrassed, but he treats her with the sincerest kindness, care, and concern. He realizes that though her aunt and uncle are not of a high social position, they have perfect manners and he likes them much more than he likes Elizabethââ¬â¢s mother, Mrs. Bennet. He invites the t hree of them back to Pemberley and insists that Elizabeth meet his sister whom he cares about very much and to whom he has been a father-figure, demonstrating how very much he wants Elizabeth to be a part of his life. When Elizabeth receives Darcyââ¬â¢s letter, she at first wants to disregard it, ââ¬Å"protestingthat she would never look in it againâ⬠(139). Then she recalls Wickhamââ¬â¢s behavior when he told her of all of Mr. Darcyââ¬â¢s misdeeds. The realization hits her for the first time that Wickhamââ¬â¢s words had been inappropriate and that he had had ââ¬Å"no scruples in sinking Mr. Darcyââ¬â¢s characterâ⬠(140). As much as she wants to believe the best about Wickham and the worst about Darcy, she can no longer deny that Wickham is clearly in the wrong and Darcy must be telling the truth. Upon meeting Wickham again, she sees ââ¬Å"in the very gentleness which had first delighted her, an affectation and a sameness to disgust and wearyâ⬠( 157). Elizabeth now sees the error in her first impression of Wickham. Visiting Pemberley proves itself the real turning point for Elizabeth. A beautiful and natural landscape surrounds Darcyââ¬â¢s home. His elegant furnishings demonstrate exquisite, but not ostentatious, taste. His housekeeper has nothing but wonderful things to say about him and confirms Darcyââ¬â¢s version of Wickhamââ¬â¢s story. As Elizabeth stands in his home, she thinks, ââ¬Å"Of this placeâ⬠¦ I might have been mistressâ⬠(164). Darcyââ¬â¢s unexpected arrival surprises and embarrasses Elizabeth, but he treats her kindly, which left her ââ¬Å"amazed at the alteration in his manner since they last partedâ⬠(168). When she and her aunt and uncle dine with Darcy, she meets his sister and likes her very much, regardless of her preconception of Miss Darcyââ¬â¢s exceeding pride. When Elizabeth finds out that her sister, Lydia, has run off with Wickham, Darcy immediately sets ou t to find them, and when he does find them, he uses his own financial means to settle a marriage between them. He keeps it a secret, but Lydia lets it slip to Elizabeth. When Bingley comes back to visit Jane, he brings Darcy with him, giving Darcy and Elizabeth ample time alone together. During a walk, Darcy proposes again, but this time he has evolved into a person who can do so without any prejudices against Elizabethââ¬â¢s social and financial standing. Hearing of Mr. Darcyââ¬â¢s concern and generosity in her sisterââ¬â¢s scandal cements her new view of him as a very good man. By the time he comes back to visit her with Bingley and proposes, now free of his former prejudices, she has grown to love him and accepts his offer. Because Elizabeth and Darcy allow their impressions of one another to continually change throughout the novel as more truths are revealed to them, they fall in love. If both of them had clung to that first judgment of the other, Elizabeth and Da rcy would never have seen in each other the person they were meant to love for the rest of their lives. However, their evolution from contempt to love does not happen all at once. Rather, bit by bit, as their encounters reveal more, they let go of their prejudices because to hold onto them would be to lie to themselves and to each other. Both characters must step back from the first judgments they made and rejudge one another based on the new information and understanding they have acquired.

Things to Write About Yourself
Things to Write About YourselfWhen it comes to writing about yourself, the first thing you need to do is sit down and write down everything you can about yourself, you will want to be able to use all this information. And what's more important than that is to make sure that you are being honest with yourself so that you won't be losing yourself in self-deprecation.There is nothing wrong with using self-deprecating humor, but remember that as long as you are writing about yourself, you should keep it light. For example, you don't want to joke about a subject like you. But if you find yourself trying to put yourself down or sounding like an old man, it's time to tone it down a bit. However, writing about yourself in a negative way could also be a good idea. When you write things that could be construed as a negative thought, you may not be the only one who is doing it. But you may not realize it. When you know someone else is talking bad about you, it's a good idea to stand up for yours elf.One of the biggest mistakes is talking about yourself in a way that is not true to your character. When you do this, it will be very hard for you to move on. A more effective way to write about yourself is to treat yourself like you would your family or your friends. Be supportive of your actions, not because you have to but because you want to.People like themselves, so what you have to do is to avoid the self-hatred. What this means is that instead of continually talking about how you look or how you sound, try to focus on how you are in other areas. It is just like the one big family and you will find that it is easier to live with yourself when you can appreciate and respect yourself.Take care of yourself from the inside out. For example, you have to eat right, exercise, get enough sleep and maintain a healthy weight. Doing these things alone is not going to solve all your problems, but by doing them together you are more likely to succeed. As you see, there is nothing wrong with being self-deprecating, but when you start to dwell on it and you don't show any emotion, it's a problem. Instead, you have to keep the eye on the prize and let all your efforts go toward helping you accomplish all the things you want to accomplish.

The Murder Of The United Colonies Of America - 1019 Words
Hello. I am supposed to be dead, I am not and I have no idea why. I woke up in a hotel room without any memory. Then I looked at a television and almost had a heart attack. I was wanted for murder. The murder of the President of the United Colonies of America(UCA. That also includes The United States). He was giving a speech and was shot by a sniper. Me. Apparently, when they saw where the bullet came from, they rushed to check it out and they saw an M24 on the ground. It had three bullets missing and my fingerprints all over it. They said it could only be a trained hitman or a UCA Marine. They say I was both. I canââ¬â¢t remember anything, not even my name. But I have two memories. One was being thrown from an F2 tornado. It threw me about a mile. I was lucky that I landed on my right arm. Iââ¬â¢m left handed. I had been taken to the hospital and they had me drink a serum that healed my bone completely. The other was that I have a twin. Weââ¬â¢re both boys. You have no idea how many times weââ¬â¢ve impersonated each other. Okay. Now back to the present. I sat up and walked around. I was on a hotel room bed. There was a desk on the right of the bed. On the desk was a laptop. It was a X3S90. The X3S90 laptop is made to look like a briefcase. There was a laptop bag next to the desk(I donââ¬â¢t know why). There is also a black backpack. I assumed it was mine. On my right, there was the bathroom, a closet and the door.
